Evaluation Time

I hope you have learned a lot in SPSE 3220/5220. My goal is to challenge conventional thinking about the use of technology in the classroom and to give you some practical skills and tools to integrate in the classroom.
A quality of a good teacher is that they are reflective so I am asking for your evaluation so that I can reflect how to improve this course. Please post things you liked and did not like here. Please includes specifics. If you did not like a particular section explain why and what could have been done differently. If you enjoyed a specific assignment explain why and what you got out of it.
Thank you and I wish you the best of luck with your teaching careers.

This was my first class I have taken online and believe this class is the best class to offer online. I enjoyed the webquest the best. I enjoyed putting it together and will use it my classroom if I teach the middle and high school levels. I-safe was my least favorite. I did not like having to watch all of the videos just to put the page together. It was informal, but there were too many lengthy videos to watch.

I enjoyed the class. This one was a stretch for me because I tend to struggle with new technology. As with most English majors, I happily avoid new technology as long as I can. However, I really enjoyed learning all the technological tools used in education these days. I fully intend to use most if not all of them in my future classroom. I enjoyed the Math Trails the most simply because I love thinking about my subject in new ways and linking that to something visual. I will definitely do that one in the future to see how kids connect literature with their world. My least favorite was i-Safe for similar reasons. It was a very very long and at times redundant video system. I learned from it and see the benefit, but I think the videos could have been shorter and more direct. All in all, it was a great class. (And...thanks for letting me email you 100 times with questions.)

I really enjoyed the class. Although, struggling at times with the technology, I learned a lot. I really enjoyed the on-site visit at the school and the interview with the teacher.(Tornado coming through while being on-site also made it a little more exciting) I really didn't enjoy I-safe;very informative but long and boring. Overall really enjoyed the class and very beneficial...

I honestly enjoyed challenging myself to create a website and explore the aspects of technology in education. At times I was confused about things, but looking at how other people approached problems helped me know what the objectives were. I miss the interaction of a live class. I am a people person so the online thing was a stretch for me. But I am glad I did it, because I feel I overcame many challenges that I would have had to face later that are taken care of now. I can build a spreadsheet for classes and set up a blog. Do you know how difficult that would have been just by diving into it while I was teaching? But like I said, I miss the sound of peoples' voices and the interaction of a live class. Everything else went nicely. P.S. ... I-Safe was tedious, but I think it's necessary for us as educators to know the risks, no matter how boring or corny the training can be.
